HAE SIVUSTOLTA:
During the training course the attendees receive information on psoriasis and its treatment and learn efficient self-care practises. Lectures and discussions are held by specialized doctors, physiotherapist, rehabilitation nurses, occupational therapist, podiatric and other specialists. Discussions with the rehabilitation nurses offer possibilities to address specific needs and concerns. Activities supporting rehabilitation are arranged.
Several topics concerning everyday life with psoriasis are discussed during the course. Attendees receive basic knowledge on psoriasis and its treatment: topical creams, other medications, light and climate therapy as well as exercising. Other topics include use of social and medical services, financial aid received from the society, and other issues arising from everyday life with psoriasis.
Furthermore, spending time with peers will provide a chance to share feelings and experiences of living with psoriasis in an understanding environment.
The training courses arranged by the rehabilitation centre are open to all people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, i.e. also non-members who are eligible to participate can send in their application to attend a course. If you have psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis and are in the working age (16–64 years), you can apply to the courses, which are financed by the Social Insurance Institution (Kansaneläkelaitos, KELA).
